A little late finishing this, and another one a little off the beaten path for me...  :)

When henwrench initially suggested this for me way back when he suggested SuggestFest, it was about the last song that I would have expected. I'm not the biggest fan of the Eagles, but of all their material, this is probably one of my favorites. Started on ukulele in July, and then left for quite some time as work and home stuff took over most of my time. I resumed it in September after I acquired this lovely Eastwood Airline electric mandola (big brother to the mandolin):

It was a lot of fun to learn, and I've got some halfway decent callouses on my fingers from sliding around for those leads  ;D -  so thanks for the suggestion, henwrench! Sorry it took so long to finish and post...

Thanks for listening,
cuthbert

This is so out of the box awesome my brother, I can't even contain myself! Who has an electric Mandola?????cuthbert does, that's who...CUTHBERT does! An electric Manddola, that's just so F#$%@ng cool man, you are so F$%^&ng cool & this track is so mind bendingly cool. It's kinda like I'm on acid, the guitar has 8 strings & it's not quite the eagles...I'm going out of my mind & I love it! You are so cool, cooler than cool...Ice Cold!

You post songs just seldom, but they are always done with excellent cuthbert perfection! Ukes and mandos sounds so sweet and ethereal on this! I'm not a big Eagles fan either, but I like your version. Here's something different and new! Everything is on the right place - especially your voice is icing on the cake!

Enjoyable listening! And yes, piepod bound...

Being a life long West Coast Californian I'm a huge Eagles fan and you done a great job on this song cuthbert. It's still very much recognizable yet you've made it into something totally new. I like the slowed down tempo and the dreamy nature that the harmony vocals and electric mandola add to the sound. Nice one!

Fantastic cover Cuthbert - love the combination of all those instruments I've never heard of ! Whats an angel hair guitar?  As a Brit I can only say it all sounds very American !

I can't believe you're not Eagles fans ;D ;D

oh well ..... I do like the Eagles, mostly because of thier great melodies and the great harmonies ...

But I must say you've taken the Eagles to a new level... this is simply brilliant ...  I love the slow pace and the laidback feel ... Like Kari I find the vocals the icing of the cake ... that said, I love your arrangement, the electric mandola is a really nice touch !

piPod bound? you betcha !!!

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

I'm an Eagles fan, and I love it! And you've also given me GAS for one of them there Mandola's! This is superbly done. A lush and dreamy interpretation that works on so many different levels. Beautiful work :-)
