Busy week at work  ::) >:(

This one started out as just an acoustic guitar and a vocal. Then I added trombone and trumpet but didn't quite like it. So I re-did it from scratch with more of a jazzy feel on my Hofner verythin. Didn't like that either. So I put three piano parts, double bass, strings, and a dash of rhythm together in Garageband and re-added the acoustic guitar part on my Tanglewood. All recorded & mixed on the MBR with a gong at the end added in Audacity. Buster is a great hero of mine.

I don't think I've ever tinkered with a song so much.

Lyrics...

Sometimes the poetry is monochrome
With a deadpan delivery
But you can still say so many things
Without necessarily speaking

And he doesn't know why
The grey lugubrious sky
Meets his downcast eyes
Everytime

We dont need to make a song and dance
The talkies never seem to have the same romance
So i'll hold you
With a buster keaton kind of silent movie love

Escape the bad guys
And save the girl
Tied up on a railroad track
Everytime he seems to cut it fine
And everytime it's bleak he brings it back

And he doesn't know why
The grey lugubrious sky
Meets his downcast eyes
Everytime

We dont need to make a song and dance
The talkies never seem to have the same romance
So i'll hold you
With a buster keaton kind of silent movie love

Really nice tune here Greeny. I dig the piano and that falsetto note in the chorus is super sweet. They lyrics are fabulous as well especially the chorus.

The hook brings you back

Puts me in mind of something you might find on an early Queen album

I wouldn't have said I Buster Keaton ever really impacted on me, but listening here I can picture exactly the films and empathise with the person.  It's the vocal and the music doing that, working together.

Another masterwork from the master.

And, wow!, gong on that!
Overdrive - Distortion - Hyperactivity

Which shows that Greeny Wednesdays can be just as nice as Greeny Mondays. :)

I really like how you arranged this - I always seem bound by guitar or uke chords (when I'm productive at all), so I find it inspiring that you built it up and tore it down along the way and it still sounds great. You didn't lose any of the freshness in the build-up. And nice touch on that gong!

A Greeny Wednesday...who would have guessed it! Your tinkering and adjusting has paid off big time Greeny with this cool sounding 1940-ish creation. This song has a "to die for" deamy  melody and lyric. Well done and on a Wednesday even!
