Sorry - posted up and had to do pickup duties - hence the short comment.

So the interesting thing with this was that I used the my very first practice amp that I ever bought, tiny VOX (Escort 2.5W transistor) practice amp, and used the Joyo California Pedal to shape the sound. Found it in the loft covered in dust - some 35 years old! On its own sounds like crap, but with the Joyo, wow - transforms the sound.

Have been researching building a Speaker Isolation Cabinet for recording - and someone mentioned that you get great results from small speakers at low volumes - strange, but I thought I'd give it a go. This recording is a tranny practice amp with a 5 inch speaker, recorded at low volumes. It sounded like crap in the open, but sounded (to my ears) great through the mike. Very strange, and very interesting. Works equally well with clean tones and heavily distorted ones as well - quite counter intuitive.

Every day is a school day :-)

Here's the VOX Escort as recorded (NB I didn't use the tonebone in the recording, but the FullTone Robin Tower pedal for the lead)

Very cool Mr B, some super slick licks, and you got unbelievably good results from that old practice amp, very interesting... I DI everything nowerdays via Line 6, but always good to know!

Very cool guitar sounds and nice groove. Chord progression is natural but still interesting. Well done!
