Buick Mackane - T.Rex Cover / odh

I only heard this song the first time last Friday. Driving back from work, this came on my iPod and made me smile. I'd bought a T.Rex Best of collection after a recent festival here.  Why did nobody tell me I was missing out all my life???

Last Friday night then I did it in GarageBand. Smart drums and loops. And for the first time a freehand guitar part.  I initially put it up for a collab vocal, but then went ahead and did my own today.

In fact what I've done is record the individual tracks to my Zoom to give me more control and add effects as I wanted to.  Then I put a vocal on and mastered.  And thank god I can then upload to Alonetone rather than Soundcloud.

THIS takes me back. Nick, you've made a very creditable stab at this, so well done you. 
Love the droney guitar and widdly-bits, a thing which our Marc B. couldn't do much of himself.
I saw T-Rex in the early 1970s, I think 'Jeepster' was the BIG song, so I'm guessing The Slider hadn't be released by then.
I've had to retire my T-Rex vinyl a couple of years ago - the 2 albums, Electric Warrior and The Slider are simply worn out. I've bought the CD versions, and interestingly, the Electric Warrior CD comes with a complete works-in-progress type of thing - fascinating.
I'm afraid that apart from a couple of 45s, I jumped the T-Rex ship after The Slider, it was all becoming silly. But I spent quite a few quid on Marc B. and the gang. So I enjoyed being taken back by your upload. Once again, well done.

Don't know the original but this is braw. It's got a great 70's vibe and feel, I dig that solo at the end.

What a beauty. I'm a Bolan nut, and this is a superb rendition. You really got a great tone on the vocal, and the Garageband / Real-life crossover is seamless. Love the conga / bongo stuff going on too - nice attention to detail, as it's not T-Rex without them! Brilliant.

Nice one Nick! Was a TRex fan as a youngster and still have a few 45s.  can't remember this track but you did a cracking version of it.

Just back from a break in Tenerife - seen a couple of rock cover bands and done a bit of karaoke so its kicked my lazy ass into getting back into Songcrafters as I've not done much recently.  Hope to start on my last Suggestfest song tomorrow before it finishes.  Glad that Enjoy the Silence made you think of your little girl! Red wine talking again!
