Hi all
Got a new one at last -this just seemed to fall into place.
must explain a few things first-
When we were kids we used the expression "I will in me Nellie" ===Kids version of "I will in me butt or ass"
In the "puddin' club-" kids version of "Bun in the oven"======pregnant.======Marys -big bump
Thanks for listening gang
Now JJ Kelly lived in Co. Kerry
Worked with his father on the farm
There wasn't that much money  And to JJ that wasn't funny
Cos he had his eye on Mary from Glencairn
But suddenly came the day
When Mary came a callin'
With her Daddy and a she had a big bump
Now JJ felt quite sick and very quick Turned and ran down the road to the pub.
==
I will in me Nellie marry Mary Skelly
I didn't put her in the puddin' club
I wasn't even there so why should I care
Im goin off down to the pub
==========
So off to the USA headed our JJ
 He joined the 7th cavalry
He fought in many battles across the west  until that fateful day
He heard Custer say we're on our way "we're off to the Little Big Horn"
Now JJ felt quite sick and turned very quick
  And headed back off to the pub
=======================
I will in me Nellie He said to Sgt. Shelley
With all the courage he could muster
There's no way I'm goin' there we would'nt have a prayer.
So up yours and Gen. Custers
=
=Now JJ Kelly made a fortune in oil
And headed back home to Kerry
One day on the street who did he meet but the lovely Mary Skelly
Now she looked quite sweet so to her he did greet
"howya  doin Mary"?
"Well Hello JJ how do you do
I named me second child after you"

Brilliant storytelling which made me smile. It also had me jigging round the room (in my mind at least). Great fun and a really nice feel to the whole thing, well done.

Cheers,

Nigel

This song is very entertaining Tommy! I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. This would be a great one for the late, great Johnny Cash's repertoire. Your lyric is light hearted, witty and the melody is infectious and you sing them as they should be sung. It's in my head for the the rest of the day. I was keying in on your clean and precise guitar picking, nice work....you have a real winner here!
