Happy Monday  :)

Acoustic guitar, bass, vocals, MBR drums, iPad Tablas, & Thumbjam cello. All recorded & mixed on the MBR.

Got a bit over-excited about this one and recorded it in a 2 hour frenzy in the wee small hours of sunday morning  :D

Lyrics...

the moon on the water like milk (we turned our fears into folklore)
the spider spinning its silk (we turned our fears into folklore)
the devil dancing in the flames (we turned our fears into folklore)
the frogs that fell on us like rain (we turned our fears into folklore)

eros and thanatos
we oscillate between them
we always did
and always will

the songs and stories that we find
might onesday be our folklore
the songs and stories that we leave behind
might oneday be our folklore

the monkey hung for being a french spy* (we turned our fears into folklore)
the coven who made the livestock die (we turned our fears into folklore)
the bones that are bricked up in the wall (we turned our fears into folklore)
the gypsy who cursed us one and all (we turned our fears into folklore)

eros and thanatos
we oscillate between them
we always did
and always will

the songs and stories that we find
might onesday be our folklore
the songs and stories that we leave behind
might oneday be our folklore

Brilliant! Fantastic lyrics and what a great idea for a song. Love the cellos with the guitars and the tabla is a nice touch as well. Lovely work as always, a real pleasure to listen to.

You do know of course that Hartlepool United's mascot is a monkey called H'Angus and he was elected mayor in 2002? The club are known as the "Monkey Hangers" by rival fans.....

Brilliant lyrics!! The melody on the chorus is really beautiful - cello and tabla puts this one step forward! Great start for a week, again!

Hi Tim, always look forward to hearing your monday offerings although I'm a day late this week. As the guys have used up most of the superlatives I'll just have to say I really enjoyed this piece which really should find it's own place in folklore. Roscoe

Wonderful song and performing! I love those cellos. Sounds so real. I think this is ready to the radio. Sounds to a big hit!
