Other ideas of great riffs I love to listen to (and play) :

Police : Message in a bottle... terrible riff!!!

On french TV, on Canal Plus, in "Le grand journal" of 20/09/2013, Sting in an interview :
Q : Can you play the best riff ever?
A : Yes, I wrote it! It's called "Message in the bottle" Ah ah!  ;D

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Let there be no doubt about it. For me the riffmeister is Mr. Blackmore. Some of his riffs sound really simple, but few get them with same attitude as the master himself. There is a good reason for the "NO Smoke on the water" signs.

There's a lot of great riffers tho !

Today my list looks like this:
1. Man on the silver mountain  - Rainbow
2. The Boys are back in town - Thin Lizzy
3. Oh Well - Fleetwood Mac
