It's called iTablas, and it was free. I'm using it on iPad, but I think it works with iPhones too. I've tried about 6 or 7 different free tabla / sitar apps, and they are all dreadful. This one finally gives me what I need: an ability to play the tablas in real time, with a really nice and authentic sound (the tone changes depending where you hit the drum skins). It's not a sitar app, but you get the 'drone' sound of a sitar as a bonus. Even better, you can change the key of it.

It's EXACTLY what I've been looking for!

Stunning songwriting! Each additions are just great - especially I loved the tablas in outro! Outstanding job, Tim!

I'm a over a week behind, whoops. As always I love the combination of guitars and wonderful melodic bass that create such a lush platform for the vox. Great chord sequences as well, they really draw you in from the off. More fabulous work, a pleasure to listen to.

Question - when you are recording vox, what setting on the MBR do you use? Do you use one of the vocal presets? I'm liking the clarity of the vocals.

Thanks Nigel!

This one had the vocal patches / FX switched off. I really wanted them clean, raw and 'real'. Almost no reverb too.

Just felt right on this one.

Otherwise I tend to use the 'Onboard' patch for almost every vocal, with anywhere between 15 and 25 on the reverb. It just depends on how it sits / sounds within the mix. And it depends on how well I can hit the notes... sometimes a heavy reverb or touch of delay can disguise 'difficult' notes a little bit!

Thanks, I think I may try that next time I do some vox. I still record all my vox into the MBR.

yea, I missed some greeny monday! such an obvious thing to say but is very beatle-ish. the song, chord prog. and sound is gorgeous, but I also like - as kari - when ethnic instruments are left alone in the end (and then became drake-ish), seems that they have more space to show their strong impact. wow!
all the -ish are a with all the envy I can feel ;-)
