Anyone else heard of Mick Ralphs??

Getttttt outa here,he's one of my heroes.
I learnt guitar playing along to that dude and mick ronson until my records wore out.
He was the guy who came up with the guitar intro for all the young dudes.
I'm well jealous .

Yep, I hadn't actually registered that he was in Mott The Hoople until the other day. So I was listening to the CDs.

And yep, you're right - the chord riffs in One of the Boys is reminiscent of the later Can't Get Enough... (or vice versa - it's more of a style of using the chords rather than anything else though...)

Turned out the missus didn't know anything about Bad Company - so I led her to a bunch of it... we listened to quite a bit the other night, I'd forgotten how good they were... And I discovered that that sound is what I'm driving at when I'm recording my "Andrew Russe Band". Not to copy it, just that "sound" and the Rumours era Fleetwood Mac band "sound" are in the back of my mind when I'm reaching for the vibe...

Mick Ralphs??? ... Now this is so cool Andy!!! 

I'm assuming the twitter connection is because of your music and can imagine
Mick digging your stuff because there's a lot in common with your straight  ahead
soulful R&R styles.   I'm a huge fan of Bad Co and always surprised of the lack of
knowledge of these guys ... but just play someone their music and you get
the "Oh ... they do this?"
