Stomp Box

I want to make myself a mississippi stomp box ( that's probably an instrument I can play ), anyone know if it's ok to use an old guitar pickup, or would a small Mic be better?

I think you'll need a mic to pickup the sound from a wooden box.  Electric guitar pickups only pickup sound from metal strings.

You might also try a piezo trnasducer contact mic:

Holy Crap!!   Those videos were to cool!!  Maybe that's the kind of guitar I need only 1 or 3 strings and a slide maybe I could learn to play that easier.   I could go fretless.  Use to play upright string bass in school.  Got me thinking. How can I build something.? Thanks guys

I thought that one string guitar thing was neat.  Maybe I can hit a pawn shop and get something cheap and tear it all apart. LOL..There's only so many notes on one string. I also bought one of those mics for my Br but haven't even tried it yet.  Like the onboard so well.  Maybe one could use that somehow.  I tried playing a saw once. That was really neat. But I lost my bow.  Just an idea anyway.
