OK, where do I start?

As some of the good folks here may know, old henwrench doesn't usually go in for explaining shit. But this one needs a little background information...

This song dates back to around the late 1500's. So I guess you could call it 'Trad'.
All the versions out there (there are one or two knocking around) seem to revolve around the chord of Am. But that gets a bit boring after a minute or so, so I worked out some more chords and stuff.

So I think they label this kind of thing as...

             Traditional. Arranged by henwrench.

Many thanks to Matt J who sang along on the 'Blow high, Blow Low...' bits.

I sent myself clean around the bend doing this one.

Is it time for another Pirate-fest?  damn straight..........great song Hen-man, great arrangement, great presentation, great Blow high, Blow Low bits, great feeling, great motion, great strat meanderings, and really great ending/outro guitar stuff there.  Great all around.  Great is the new good.

Weird! I've been working on a cover of a traditional 16th century Scottish folk song. Reminder to self: post it! Looking backwards... way backwards! Time for a TradFest I think.

This is bloody awesome, henny! Fits you so nicely, and all that f*cked up stuttering shit at the end is genius. In response to the 'song endings' thread, THAT'S how to end a song!

Love it, you old Pirate :-)

Folk on!

This is brilliant. A cool pirate song and a great arrangement and performance. Love the ending too. >9|

"PirateFest 2" is one of the choices in the current Theme/Genre festival poll but it doesn't seem to have much chance of winning. Maybe we could have a mini-PirateFest for about a week around September 19th which is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. If it proves to be popular, we might even make this 1-week mini-fest an annual event every September.

Great idea. Suggestion noted for a future festival poll.
