I always liked the original, probably because it reminds me of a holiday in Devon as a kid...........ah.

Anyhoo, I really like this version too, the slightly darker slant works good and guitars are perfect, the slide solo sounds very Harrison.

Ah, I'm off to see the 'Queen of Pop' in Leeds in a few day's time, I was a fan of Elton in the early days, Yellow Brick Road and all that.

Great cover, completely different song Geir. I really do like this.

Sounds like a completely different song, brilliantly done!

No real strong feelings on the original, could take or leave it, but brings back some happy memories of the Summer of '83.

Excellent! A great improvement on the original. :) I like the slide guitar solo. Good sounding drums too.

On a technical note, I'm detecting several very minor glitches. The most noticeable are at 1:36 and 1:06. They're consistent between various browsers, including one that supports the HTML player, so it's not just the Flash player. I also downloaded the song and heard the same glitches in several MP3 players at exactly the same spots. Although, it manifested differently in various players. Usually, it was a sort of very brief squeak but in one or two players it was a very brief silence. Strangely, it seems to play okay in Audacity. I suspect that these glitches might have been created during the conversion to MP3, so you might want to check your original mix to confirm that. Anyway, they're very minor and don't detract from the song much, so it might not be worth the trouble of fixing it. I'm just curious as to what caused it. As I said, my guess is that it happened in the conversion to MP3, but that's only a guess. It might be due to an error during upload, or there could be some other cause.

Thank you for all the kind feedback.

Glad you liked it Henny !! Mission accomplished :) And hope you're still standing too !!!!

Yeah I can see that it has a more melancolic feel than the original :) Was just the way I felt when I sang it I guess ;D I did slow it down a bit compared to the original and it's also in a lower key, that may also add to the feel I guess.

That was very strange. Especially since I now has uploaded the same file I uploaded the first time and the glitches seems to be gone. I don't think I've ever experienced that a upload have failed in such a minute way before !! I didn't detect any glitches after the new upload, but do tell me if anyone else hears any (except for the glitches in the playing & singing of course, those I hear clearly enough ;D)
