Do I need a Micro BR?

Hahah! Hey guys and girls.  The reason I even joined this community is because I was shopping the MBR...I'm so glad I found this place... But anyways, I still haven't bought 1! Why? Hahahha! Because I've already had the BR900 for a few years now. But man, I've constantly got that itch and desire to pick up the MBR. But do I need one?! I need your guys' help on this- Besides the obvious like, it's a lot more portable, it has great MP3 options, etc. how can I justify buying another multitracker?....

I think some of you guys, I've heard, have the br600 and the MBR. Are you happy w/ your decisions to have bought both? Somehow, one way or another, I need to put an end to this burning desire :D
If I see another MBR on Ebay for $150, should I jump on it? Help please!  Thanx!

Another thing-

I know the MBR is super portable, but my guitars are still gonna be the same size! If I have to pack up my guits, I might as well throw the BR900 in $50 case I bought for it and take it with!...So I don't think portability is the selling point for me.  I do like the fact that I could use it for a MP3 player, but I'm sure an ipod or sony walkman would be better suited for a standalone MP3 player, plus you can't put videos on the MBR!!  Maybe I just want to post my songs in the Micro BR section!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

In a word: "Yes."

Portability is the key, but there's something awfully bizarre and exciting about creating a fully-realized recording on something a tad bigger than a deck of cards.

I have the BOSS BR-1600 and while it's swell and nifty, I would never get rid of the Micro BR.

And not to get maudlin, but I really like this community, and if you want your secret decoder ring, you need a BR.

Just my two cents.

Secret decoder ring?! Oooo, that's very tempting! It's "music" to my hears coming from a guy w/ a br1600! Hmmm 8)

Thank you Blooby! ;)

More please!

When my Tascam broke, I narrowed it down to either the BR-600 or the Micro for my new 'studio'. I did check out the specs for both in a lot of detail, and obviously, there were a lot more functions and effects etc on the 600. But when I went to the guitar shop and saw the actual size of a Micro, I couldn't quite believe it. I bought it on instinct, and it's one of the best decisions I ever made.

I can't compare the two, but I can tell you that the Micro is a serious piece of recording kit that can handle pretty much every idea you want to throw at it. The only downside is that the first couple of weeks are frustrating as you try to get to grips with the controls. But that's where the tutorials here come into their own.

Get one! You won't regret it. Plus, you have a huge amount of talent to express on it (which helps)  :D

the great thing is you can take it on the train or the bus or for a walk or dive into the office toilet to remix and master tracks, and once you have the music down you can sing anywhere the built in mic is awesome, i have a ton of mics that i never use now cos i usethe onboard mic.

The onboard mic was the thing that really blew me away. It captures vocals and acoustic guitar beautifully.

And as ORH says, the portability of the BR is a real bonus when it allows you to master and review songs on the train etc. I've programmed many rhythm patterns on crowded commuter trains  :D

That's some great information guys...I appreciate it.  I guess I never even thought of the convenience of mixing songs on the go...sounds very intriging. I can picture myself "diving", as you say, into the office toilet to play with my recordings- plus there's always great acoustics in restrooms-incase I want to try a vocal:D

And if the onboard mic is anything like the br900s, which I assume it is, I'm sure it IS(suprisingly)very high quality...

I'm about ready to pull the trigger....I think.  I'm so close to clicking on the "submit order" at the Musician's Friend website..Hahhahahh!!  I think it would probably make me happier in the long run to buy a new 1 instead of risking it w/ some ebay dud...YOu're really not saving THAT much, and I'd be getting a Warranty. Plus it's just enough $ before I hit my MF credit limit ;D 8) I'll consider it an early birthday gift to myself ::)

Hopefully you'll be seeing Acoustick_NE on the MBR post your work section soon:P

Yep.....I think I'm gonna do it.......!!

Under normal circumstances, I would usually talk someone out of pulling the trigger. I cannot this time. :( The flat and shiny silver "gun" is just too cool. 8) (Do it.) :D
