Difficulty with music player in posts

Hi, i'm sure there's a simple answer to this, but when I click play on the 'player' in a post nothing seems to happen. The only way for me to hear somebody's tune is to download it. Anyone know why this might be?

Thanks.

Which operating system?  Which web browser?

It should work. I think most of our members are probably using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer and I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem. Perhaps you need to update your Adobe Flash.

Which version of Internet Explorer are you using? If it's IE10 or IE11, it might be trying to use our HTML5 player and failing. If that's the case, just click the "old player" button in the lower-right to load the old Flash player instead.

I have exactly the same problem - it loads the player but refuses to play anything directly from Songcrafters.

I've just clicked the old player as you suggested and it won't play that either.

I've just tested it on Win7 with IE9, and songs load by default in the old Flash-based player, and they play correctly.

Haylie, what's your operating system and browser (and its version)? Also, which version of the Flash player have you got? You can find the Flash player version by right-clicking on the old player, and then look at About Adobe Flash Player.

Windows 7, IE10 - Adobe 10.1.7 (probably) :)

I don't actually mind because I browse other stuff while I'm playing the downloaded version (and I don't save it) and it's not on all the songs but as 64 said no-one else had complained that there was a problem, I thought I'd mention I also have difficulties getting the player to play, so it's just not Strummer10 - (I don't want to download any other operating systems, thanks).

I had no problems playing tracks before the site was updated.

Version 10.1.7 of the Flash player is pretty old. You may want to try updating it? Get it here:

Updating the flash player worked pretty well for me, but it's strange to me how some tunes work in the new player and others not at all, but for the most part I can stream everything off of one of the players. I'm running Win7 & I think the latest Flash player. So this morning, Kenny Macs post "Miss The Sun" only worked with old player, Andy Casson's "Brother" worked on the new player & The Tangled Wires bump "Frozen In Time" that I'm listening to now only worked on the old player. Really doen't matter to me as long a s I can listen!
