  I sort of just reside down here, haha.  No! Different Mr. Gore! Haha! The Gore company makes those Elixir strings, same company that makes the Gore-Tex fabrics...a celestial material that has saved me many times over.

You never know, though...maybe the answer resides within the perfect Elixir!  What's the life like on those strings??

for me.
And they hold up nicely to the abuse that I give them!

I think the standard Slinkys are a nickel plated steel wrapping wire and the Rock and Roll Classics are an all nickel wrapping wire.

Rotosound yellows on my squier strat.

On my Ibanez have tried a few D adario, Dr black beauties which looked shit hot black strings on a white guitar, once the coating started to chip they just looked shit. Sounded ok though.  Now it is back to the old faithful Rotosound pinks.

On the plus side with rotosound you get an extra top E string, which is always usefull

Got some Martins for my acoustic. nice.

the elixir i find start to shred after a while. So I don't use them. Just buy lots or EB's when the offers are on and change them often.

I have heard that boiling them up revives them. I'll be trying this when my new 5 string bass starts sounding a little dull, £25 for a set of 36" scale 5 string bass strings!
