Thanks everyone, this one felt so right for me, what an epic suggestion 64.  I have been working on my fingerstyle, different tunings, trying to get fluid, and be able to sing at the same time, and keep that thumb bass solid, well, its been a work in progress for at least 2 years now, it all started in earnest when I got our 8 week old puppy two summers ago, and had to sit out on the back deck with him for the month of August, so he wouldn't tear apart the house.......Lab puppy.

Well, that started my acoustic/fingerstyle journey in earnst.  I decided to finally try to crack the code once and for all and explore different tunings .  I just started playing around drop D tuning for a week or so, and then this suggestion.  I was so glad to discover that Valdy does this on Drop D, and the song seemed to fit like a glove.  I haven't listened to this one in a long time, but in my teen years I really used to love this, I saw Valdy live back in the day at a small folk festival.  I can't believe how well or quickly this one all came together.  So I got to learn my way around Drop D tuning, I learned a great song that I now can play for my enjoyment, and I got something recorded, just my guitar and voice, at the same time, thats a success.

For me personally this festival has been a huge sucess........ And I still have all the other great covers to listen to.  Thanks for the great comments everyone.  Long live Songcrafters.

I don't know the original, so it's your song now! Beautifully and tastefully done. Not to mention intricate (i.e. COMPLICATED!). Damn, that Seagull sounds great (...in your hands anyway!). So many fine runs, flourishes and details in the playing. That solo part you pull off is incredible. Such fine work.

I don't know this song but the acoustic sounds great. Excellent suggest fest submission and solo performance Bluesberry!

pure class Dave. Fits you like a glove. You nailed it and then some. Your vocals are superb on this and your acoustic playing is masterful. Being a Canadian, hearing this brings back memories of growing up with the am radio on in the kitchen before heading off to school. Great job on this!

Dave, it's been a while since I've heard you. It's also been a huge jump in skill sets. Your guitar is spectacular. Loved the vocals, and the harmonies. Nice, tight song.
