I got a used BR-80 a couple days ago and just dove in.  Special "Thanks" to 64Guitars for the replies and advice to my post.

This is a song we (Soul Shaker) perform live as a three-piece, so this is a wee bit different.  Everything was recorded into the BR-80 (no board, preamps or mixer) using only headphones, so I have NO idea what it sounds like on a real sound system, only headphones and iPhone!  haha

Doing the vocals proved a challenge, but for me it came out okay for a first stab and no preamp etc.  Used a Sennheiser 421!

Everything is direct except the fill/lead guitar, a Marshall 1-watt JTM-1 head into a mic'd 12" Egnater cab.

There is always something you can change, but I just plowed through it so as to move on.  I don't want to be too anal.  haha

I've experimented with several mixes and now I GIVE UP!  haha  Kind of like "The Three Bears": one loud, one medium, one "quiet."

Thank you, guys, I appreciate the listen.  Man, this is a cool and supportive forum with lots of good info, music ... .

A friend thought the original mix (which I now call the "Loud" mix) was too overpowering.  I did two others for reference.  I don't know anymore as my ears are dead!  haha

Finally got to listen and it was well worth the wait! I dig the laid back rockin' vibe and the excellent guitar riffing! A very smooth performance all the way. Nice work Voodoo Chile!
