ok ....here's a bit of low fi folk music thrown together hastily for your enjoyment ....in need of some tweaking and volume increase but still it's supposed to sound like a song from 45 years ago so what the heck https://soundcloud.com/goodtimefolkrockshow/i-had-to-tell-you
this song is originally on the Classic Texas psychedelic/folk group 'the13th floor elevators' second and arguably greatest effort 'Easter Everywhere"  check them out on ebutuoy sometime if you like mid 60s sounds .

Chris - I'm envious of a number of talented people on here and you're right up there with 'em.

I cant think how this recording could be better - it cant, vocal and harmonica bliss!!

Thanks!!!

This is really fantastic, Chris.

I'm a big Roky Erickson/13th Floor Elevators fan (in fact, I saw Roky and his band in Boston at TT and The Bear's last year - great, great show, and a really small venue!) - you did an excellent job on this!

This is so beautifully done. I have their first album, but not this one. I 'm going to check it out on the strength of this! Love the gentle vocal and the weeping harmonica. So damn good.

ODH

That's beautiful.  There's a real honesty and delicacy about the performance which you've captured well.  I would leave the tweaking alone.

Excellent. How did you do the harmony vocals? I couldn't tell whether you had a female singer helping you, you did the vocals yourself in a falsetto, or you used some vocal processing (pitch-shift, formants, etc.) to alter your voice.
