so, i guess all i can say is "great first post"

He he he!  I've joined another band (playing bass) just before I got my MBR and had like 100 songs to learn.  So I used my kit mostly as an mp3 trainer.  I'm working on a couple of other songs (in addition to reworking this one!) that I'll post as soon as I get 'em done.  This week is shot as I have two gigs (2 of the 3 bands I'm in) this Saturday.  I'm glad to hear that you like it, though.  It gives me a bit more confidence.

I didn't know about the midi connectivity with the rhythm editor.  Another thing to explore when I get the time.  I did use the velocity dealie on this project.  It works great.
Cheers!

Tim

Not a huge fan of the song or style but you've got a great voice and there's real potential here. Keep doing what you enjoy and get familiar with the recording techniques. You've got a well crafted song here and that's just as important as being a "great" musician in my book. See if you can get that bass sorted out because it will do much more for your efforts here - I'll give the redo a listen once you've done that.

Cheers,

Nigel

Thanks, Nigel.  I'm a fan of your work, so the compliments mean a lot!

Thanks, I was actually mulling over your words and I really like some of the imagery you've used. The concept "waterfall of grace" is actually a really good way of expressing how you must feel. Keep them coming!

Thanks, Nigel.  That was my sister's favorite part too!

It's a good song. not my style or subject, but well crafted and well played and performed.

Really good. I hope you get the chance to perform it.

Not really into the subject same as Nigel... But...

The overall song is really good. Nice clean playing and you have got a good voice. Really good "first effort"  ;)

It's a great first effort - really it's a great song, first effort or not.  Enjoyed it a lot.  I got some really bad news today, and your lyrics really lifted my spirit.

Regarding the overdrive in the bass, I've had the same problem, but I've found some patches are a lot worse than others about doing that.  I have a BR600, and the "fliptop" patch seems to work pretty well.  It also helps if you do your mix down with some good studio monitor headphones. I have some Sennheisers I bought for about $100 and they work great.

Keep up the good work, bro.
