This is my first shot at recording.  I learned a lot this weekend which will be put into practice when I redo this song.  The song sounded fine when I mastered it, but when I exported it as a .wav the bass was distorted for some reason.  I used the BR900 Rhythm Editor (recorded to Audacity and exported/imported to MBR as a .wav) to create my drum line.  I actually input every beat and cymbal crash individually.  I'm not a great musician, but I love the Micro BRew for songwriting.
Cheers!

Whoa, this is incredible. Really like it. Stellar results for a first shot at recording, man.  :o

I had been wondering how using the rhythm editor would work out on a recording. Definitely going to try this method sometime. Agreed, the Micro BRew is highly inspirational.

Thanks!  The Rhythm Editor was pretty easy to use, and I was really pleased with the results.  I may try just using the MBR on the next project, but it was a lot of fun doing "everything" myself.
Cheers!

Just an awsome job!!  I wish I knew the words. I was singing the harmony anyway.  Doesn't hurt any of us to listen to a Christian song. I am still in Awe and you put in the drums by beat and crash's. I am still struggling with basics.  Let's here some more.

where have you you been hiding?

i was all ready to welcome you the site with your "great first post", and tell you how it's about the music, not the judgement, but....

so, i guess all i can say is "great first post"

the BR900 Rhythm Editor is a great tool and it's free, imagine that. have you figured out that you can change the velocity of the hits. and that you can import a midi if want and it strips out everything but the drums and lays out all of the drum hits for the song. i bet you already knew that. ;)

so, do some more.

Afraid I'm a card-carrying atheist but I listened anyway  ;)

Not a huge fan of the song or style but you've got a great voice and there's real potential here. Keep doing what you enjoy and get familiar with the recording techniques. You've got a well crafted song here and that's just as important as being a "great" musician in my book. See if you can get that bass sorted out because it will do much more for your efforts here - I'll give the redo a listen once you've done that.

Cheers,

Nigel

I didn't know that and I haven't figured out how to change the velocity of the hits.  Can you tell more, please?

mr2kewl

yeah - the rhythm editor is a really cool tool. i've been using it in my songs until i introduced my "Mr2Cool Quartet" concept and now i only to establish my tempo and build my songs.

right next to the time signature window is the velocity window. highlight the hit that you want to edit and the velocity of that hit will show in the window. just increase/decrease it to suit your intention.
