According to James's comment, a *honest* song, and I agree 100% with him by my point of view too.

Apart few notes on the guitar (I'm not comfortable at playing actually), I've built the tune "from scratch" using BIAB.

James added these wonderful lyrics...

Enjoy!

to go that extra mile

i've been getting myself sidetracked
by the little things in life
making mountains out of molehills
tossing turning through the night

i got an itch that just needs scratching
all my bugs i have to bare
i keep getting tunnel vision
and think no one really cares

but i'm thankful i have friends
who help me keep my feet on the ground
and who offer me advice
that is both wise and profound

but when i'm left to my own thoughts
i keep waking sleeping dogs
rubbing salt into my old wounds
always making matters worse

i am sorry i was short with you
i've got too much on my mind
trying to get from a to z
when i don't have the time

i need to have a break from work
and spend more time with you
take the dog out for a walk
and run the kids to school

well you know i could start a fight
in an empty room
and baby baby baby baby
so could you

but you can make me laugh
and you can make me smile
you give me the strength
to go that extra mile

Lovely stuff. Great chord progression. Great string string arrangement, lyric and vocal. I wish I could write like this.. PS. What's BIAB ?

Jarle

Lovely... The piano and guitar picking are beautiful. Vocals are fabulous (as usual). I love the viola(?) solo. I'm loving every minute of it.

Thanks Chunk.

BIAB is Band-in-a-Box, a musical software extremely powerful, and useful to help developing your musical ideas, make orchestrations of your music compositions and so on. I use it since the DOS-years, I can only recommend it to everybody, and the main reason is that the idea at the centre of the software  is that YOU decide, and not viceversa, as in most programs.

Jarle, it's a cello, not a viola.

Lovely stuff here guys, another perfect songcrafters Collaberations ,this really is an excellent site with so many friends and musical arrangements made.
This is what this sites about,I really do feel more excited about a Collaberation I have done on here more than I do about putting out an original recording.
It means more, does that make sense?
