Hi all, I seem to be busier now than when I was working but I just about found time to do one of my favourite country songs. I'm not entirely happy with the mix and I may repost later but for now, hope you like.........Willie

ps if there any country buffs out there, sorry for the liberties taken with this one. W

Well done Willie! I've never heard any version except the one by Three Dog Night. I had forgotten that Hoyt Axton had written it. I knew he had written Joy To The World but when I looked up his song catalog he had a string of good songs made hits by others for instance The Pusher.

I like your laid back, easy on the morning ears version. Nice work for a retiree, lol! ( I'm right behind you)

I know what you mean. It's been the same for me. Not enough hours in the day.

Nice cover of this classic. I always loved Three Dog Night's version, as well as the Hoyt Axton original. Hoyt Axton wrote some great songs. I especially like "Snowblind Friend" (Steppenwolf did a great cover of it) and "Della and the Dealer" (which he performed on an episode of WKRP in Cincinnati). And his mother was a co-writer of "Heartbreak Hotel" which was a huge hit for Elvis Presley.
