Greetings One and All!

Stumbled onto this forum while researching acoustic treatment info for my little project studio/office.  Lurked around for a while, read some threads, listened to some really good tunes, and thought....

I gotta get in with these cats!

By way of background, I'm currently a computer tech at a local Elementary School.  Love my job, the kids are awesome, my teachers are the best.  Been here for about five years now, and for the first time in my professional life, I feel like I'm really doing something that makes a difference.

Music has always been just a part of my daily existence.   I've been writing free-verse poetry since as far back as I can remember.  I have a file cabinet full of my musings, most of it sucks, or is too dark and disturbed to ever see the light of day, but some of it is pretty interesting (at least I think so...)  As I got older and started to learn guitar, I began setting my verses to music.   I've been in and out of bands, and took "vacations" from playing off and on, as life took it's toll on my dreams.

Attended the Institute of Audio Research in NYC and worked as an audio maintenance engineer in NYC for about 12 years.  When I burned out and left NY, I was Chief of the Technical Services Department at EastSide Audio and Video.

I'm married now, living in Maryland, and have an amazing 13yo daughter.  I've finally found the time to get back to actually making the music I hear in my head each moment of the day.

I'm really excited to have discovered in this forum, that I am apparently not as ..... well, ya know,    as I thought!! ;D

If I can manage to get my chops back to even a fraction of what I hear you guys doin..... we gonna have some fun!!   There be some talent here!   Me likey! 9{}

Oh well, guess that's enough for now, just wanted to say "yo"

Happiness is not having what you want,
it's wanting what you have.

Welcome, HD.

Fire up your instruments, my friend, you've come to the right place.

WARNING!

I wouldn't say that some of the musicians here are crazy enough to scare a maggot off a honey bucket, but they might make it hard for him to enjoy his meal.

Remember, I didn't say that. Plead the fifth if you have to.
