The admin team discussed this a bit and we think that PMs should be discouraged. We think it would be more interesting if we make a new topic in General Discussion specifically for suggestions and everyone posts their suggestions there. That way, others can see the suggestions and add their support if it's something they'd like to hear as well. The same topic could also be used for people to request some suggestions for themselves if they haven't got any or they just got a couple and didn't particularly like them.

Yep, I reckon a Suggest Thread is the way to go. As far as any idea of members being excluded, then yea, that's something that cannot happen. I personally wouldn't have a problem in posting up in the Suggest Thread and saying 'Hey, somebody gimme something to do'. We're all friends here...

The original spirit of the idea of a SuggestFest is for a member to suggest/ask another member to cover a particular song because the 'suggester' would love to hear the recipients interpretation. I've already suggested I'd do a back flip if Geir covered 'I'm Still Standing' but the Norseman would be under no obligation to do so.

Maybe when a recipient has decided to cover a suggestion, that is when PM's could be employed and the 'suggester' provides links to TABS, YouTube 'lessons' etc.

Not to speak for henwrench, but that's not how I interpreted it.

I think his original idea is for the suggester to select a "suggestee" to do a song. As a for instance, I cuthbert might ask you Burtog to cover I Heard Ramona Sing. So it'd be like that. :)
