A song about the despair of being unemployed...

I Try to See
Words and Music Andy Casson
16th June 2013
Pull the curtain meet the day
Nothing to do, nothing to say
Same old feelings holding sway
What can I do to make my way

I kill the lights so there's nothing to see
Can't find a reason or hold a dream
Sights and sounds aren't what they seem
Left alone like a dying breed

Stand in line with a smiley face
I disappear without a trace
Another number without a name
Can't you see I'm dying of shame

I look for reasons, look for blame
Look for leaders but they're all the same
One more season and things will change
But it's a game of numbers not of names

I try to see....but it's all gone now

Life's slipping by day by day
Try as I might can't find a way.....

Great song with a really good chorus. I love the guitar solo at the end.

Sh*t, Andy, this is POWERFUL!!
From the cagey, almost whispered intro to that blistering guitar solo, and the inventive intertwining of the vocal lines - what's not to like??
A plaintive cry set inside a powerful song - a brilliant upload. Very well done.  8)

Wow. Impressive. I was gonna mention that I liked the delay effect on the vox but that I thought it was a bit low.. then the main vocal, or prominent vocal, came in and it made perfect sense. I still think you could up the first vox just a bit so it could be heard a hair better, but honestly the effect is great. I purposefully stopped looking at the lyric and I can understand the lyric just fine here in my listening room the way it sits as is. The bridge vox/melody is good and that lead part is damn fine.

This is stellar. A keeper for sure in mix, performance and recording... and message.

Cool song. I especially liked the "Life's slipping by day by day" bit and the awesome lead guitar that follows it.

Awesomeness! Amazing arrangement and production. Love the moody tension of the opening and how it all expands outwards from there. That guitar solo is epic! Serious class and talent as always.

Redler

Genius and powerful! Loved the double layer vocals! The guitar solo is awesome!
