Hey all... I just wanted to start a thread that I thought would be kinda cool. As some of you know... I live in Alaska... Solstice (June 21) the longest day of the year is a big deal round these parts. We are getting some really fantastic weather as of late.... We were due. The last 2 years have been a real bummer. I plan on sitting on my deck and drinking as much beer as possible this weekend.... I could be provoked to post some pics. It's really cool to be able to stay out past midnight with the sun still shining... Not to many places in this wonderful world where you can get a sunburn at midnight. Feel free to post your pics on this thread... let's make this a cyber party!!! Show me what your weather looks like... on the 21st (Next Friday)... I hope everyone will join me for a cyber drink at midnight wherever you may be.

Yes, this is the best time of year! In my region the day lasts about 20 hours on Summer Solstice. It is not dark, but dusk a bit. Spending it at my cabin. Put some pics and let's have cyber drink party :)

I didn't know what CRS was so I looked it up on WikiPedia but it wasn't much help. Too many possibilities.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CRS

  • Caudal regression syndrome
  • Congenital rubella syndrome
  • Cutaneous radiation syndrome
  • Colorectal surgery   (I hope that's not it :D)
  • Chinese restaurant syndrome
  • Classic Rock Society  (maybe :))

But then I tried Google and found this page:

Can't Remember Stuff.  That must be it!  :)

My eldest daughter's birthday on the 21st - the solstice. She is a hippy child :-) They open up the Stones (Stone Henge - or Stone Hedge as I call it) - so everyone can go up a hug the stones. Lots of people play hand drums and stuff, a Hippie fest :-) You can (apparently), feel the force - so to speak.
