Treacle, the word of a reticent piper.

BTW there is an instant ban for any member posting recordings of bagpipes. It's a new rule that I have just made up.

I agree with this one! Especially if it's a cover of Mull of Kintyre!

There are three things in life that I have a serious problem with:

Coleslaw, Cricket, and Bagpipes!

(and in some terrible Room 101, all three are waiting for me...!)

Oldrottenhead

i'll give you cricket tim. lol.

my friend  mark immigrated to new zealand. before going he hated bagpipes. but in new zealand it seemed to him that there was a piper on every street corner. on hearing the pipes a lump would come to his throat and he'd pine for the scottish shores. his immigration lasted about 3 months.

Congrats?

On one side of my house, I have an arrhythmic couple who occasionally play djembes and didgeridoos.  It can get irritating, but since they put up with the sound/noise of occasional jams at my house, I guess there's nothing much I can say. I think the mellifluous sounds of bagpipes would make me homicidal, though.

Since I don't know your neighbors, might I suggest running them through a Marshall stack.

I look forward to your future posts.  Should be interesting.

You could always record a sample of a cat being run over and put it through Garageband or similar...! ;-)

^^^ - Oh yes, I think that bagpipes should be played through a Marshall Stack every time....

Or never.

I object and am going to stop posting songs in protest . . . I must be going mad as I swear I can hear cheering!

Bruno sorta knows a little about this story... I was heavily involved in Desert Storm and Desert Shield... I spent quite a bit of time at the coillition compound outside of Riyadh in the middle of nowhere....Every morning the British Royal Air Force (Who must have had a few Scot's in their arsenal)... would wake everyone up with their pipes. It was a breath of fresh air to me... I was so used to Reveille. I found them much less annoying than a bugle for sure.
