Well, here's another possible "Voodoo Smile" track.
As usual, a simple arrangement.

The main track is a live 1 track take. I think it's time to try my hand at performing live.

These live recordings should allow me to improve my playing while singing.

Track 1 – Lead vocal and acoustic guitar ( 1 live take )
Track 2 – Violin (ThumbJam)
Track 3 – Back up vocal
Track 4 - Noodling beneath the verses

It's a story of forbidden love. Young man falls for and runs off with the boss's wife.

Well, the heart wants, what the heart wants... but of course...... the piper must be paid.

"Come As You Are"
MisterNelson

Verse
Many lonely years along this winding dusty road,
has taught me to keep my heart, tucked away inside.
But today I'm on my knees, thanking my lucky stars,
for, this angel standing here, before my eyes.
I don't know much about this world you're living in,
but to covet, I know to be a sin.
But, if you're willing to sacrifice and throw caution to the wind,
then Honey...... I know the risk and I'm all in.

Chorus
Just meet me down by the railroad tracks, Honey there will be no turning back.
Cause I will have all I need, with you here next to me.
In the story of the rest of my life, Honey, you will be the star.
Just leave it all behind and come as you are.

Verse
Like his word, I heard his aim is true.
And he aims to send me straight to hell, for loving you.
You know it's all wrong, I keep saying to myself,
but we can't... keep this burning passion locked up on the shelf.
I don't know the chances of a love that starts in sin,
how far we'll make it or how it's going to end.
But, if you're willing to sacrifice and throw caution to the wind,
then Honey...... I know the risk and I'm all in.

Chorus

Bridge
We made a pledge to stay together,
And to do whatever it took to survive.
We'll meet up again in heaven,
If this love, cost us both our lives.

Outro Chorus
She met me down by the railroad tracks, there was no turning back.
We had all we needed, as a matter of fact.
In the story of the rest of our lives, she was the star.
We left it all behind and here we are.  ** Their bodies are found**

Ah... this is just what I need! A new Nelson track to drift away with on a sunny mid-week afternoon.

Beautifully written, played and sung. The chorus is absolutely epic, and I love how the final rendition of it is pared down. So good. So very good my friend!

Good god, this is doing the trick. Love the quality of the recording, sounds like the old days when folks would perform in hotel rooms and record straight to a vinyl cutting machine. Now that's pressure... :D
