Here is the first song that Morrissey and Marr wrote together in their first session in Steven's loft, Summer 1982. Before even the Smiths came into being properly.

Overdrive - Distortion - Hyperactivity
Yesterdays shatter, tomorrows don't matter

Good choice given that you'll be doing a fair bit of cradle rocking for a while !

Nice one Nick - and I thought you didn't think you were gonna have time to do any more tunes  ;)

Keep 'em coming!

Thanks both.

A lot of the lyrics are quite resonant at the moment, although the underlying menace thankfully isn't.

This is the first thing I've done since the baby is home. What I'm finding is that there's a lull when she sleeps in the afternoon so I was able to get the guitar track down yesterday, bass today. Half hour each. Helps that my recording gear is now set up in its own room (dare I say studio) rather than having to be unpacked every time.

Stripped down and minimal are my watchwords.

You'll probably find you have more free time than you thought Nick - babies sleep a lot!
It gets worse as they get older - my son's just been down to London for 4 days (MCM Comic Con - dressed up as a Final Fantasy charachter). First he wanted spending money for eating and drinking at london prices then at 9 o'clock on bank holiday monday morning (after me and the wife had been at a wedding all Sunday and got home at 2.30 in the morning) the phone was ringing - 'Came back on sunday night and stayed with my mates at Preston Uni (20 miles away) Can you come and pick me up?'  >:(
