I had a few problems doing this - no matter what buttons I pressed, I was still registering 'over' with the electric guitar. I really hope my BMR isn't on the blink!! I tried out my very first bit of 'tapping' over this chord progression. It's not great but it's a start. I've got my lesson with a guitar god tomorrow!

MAN do I like that!!!!

What is it? ... an original?

Solid job on the tapping, like anything else it'll tighten up and get faster with more practice. It's nearly there.

Thanks! Yes, this is my own chord prgression. It makes me think of film music. I don't know what the second chord is, can anyone give it a name? It's got the following notes Open A (5th string), F # (4th string), B (3rd string), C# (2nd string) and F# (string 1) - my best guess is F# minor 13th or something like that, but not sure. The rest of the chords are very simple. The tapping thing is fascinating and I really want to get better at it. REally punishes your fingers though, doesn't it!

According to http://www.chordbook.com/guitarchords.php, that chord would be:

F# m add11   OR   Gb m add11
F# sus4  /  A   OR   Gb sus4  /  A

I would define that chord as an A6/9

A - root
F# - 6th
B - 9th
C# - Major third

I use them all the time. One of my favorite ending chords for jazz ballads and swing tunes.

You guys are way to technical for me A root sound like a tooth that needs pulled. ;D

I'm sure you're right, Farmjazz. My knowledge of chord theory is pretty much limited to simple triads and their inversions. I get confused when a 4th or 5th note is added, so I rely on chordbook.com to help me. Out of curiosity, I looked up the A6/9 chord there and it's almost the same as jackofall's chord except the first string is an open E rather than F#. Does the E have any significance?

I really like this. You should be very proud of this original. It almost reminds me of a theme song to something. Anyway, the pile of guitars you have in here is really cool. Did this take long to come up with? I often come up with ideas and toy with them for months and months.
