Excellent! I don't know the original but I think this is great. Love the guitar tone.

orh still hates dire straits  ;D ;D ;D but loves the film local hero cause a big part of it was filmed at the white sands of morar one of the most beautiful places in scotland if not the world. and the tune reminds me of wonderful times spent there.

Didn't look so nice when Sauron lived there. ;)

Quotedid you record this with this BR800, can you tell me what guitar effect setting you had on to get this tone, it's something I've been trying to get for a long time, but my knowledge of effects is very limited.
No I recorded it on my vs,the br800 is going to be used more extensively in the next month or so as Im going to spend a bit of time with it.
The problem has been I have my vs studios that I'm used to but IM going to get a tutorial DVD and get studying.
The guitar used is a Michael Kelly patriot with coil taps and this was put into a pod xt live and just put through a clean channel setting I have.
I do not use a plectrum so the tone is more or less is the picking and dampening style I suppose.
A similar style can be heard on Black coffee that I did with steel guitar.
Thanks to all for the comments  ;D

Thanks for the info Kenny.

I only have some accoustic guitars and a BR800, I'll admit I dont know of the other equipment you mention, (my recording knowledge is very very limited) I was hoping that maybe one of the guitar effects on the 800 would emulate this tone you get.

I do have a Line six variax guitar that I got ages ago, I have never really played with it, maybe they will be something in there that will get me closer
