For anyone who likes the crazy Cramps beat, here is a cover of the Cramps song What's Inside a Girl

I worked with Chuckizzet on this one to get the vocal.

It was recorded on Chucks Zoom, I played the two guitars through my iPad using Amplitude going into the Zoom.

I did the drums using GarageBand and layered over the top with thumbjam drums.

Bass played by our mutual friend George (a real bass for a change this time)

Don`t know this song but you guys rocked it. I like the ending. Guitar sounds good.

I thought the same thing Haylie, I asked Chuck to do another mix before I posted the first mix, with the vocal louder and more reverb on it but I thought it lost something of the originals character so didn't post it but here is version two for you to judge for yourself.

I know what you mean Dave, I think the first one has a bit more grit to it - a really tough vocal to pull off and Chuck does it superbly (the guitars aren't bad either )

Thanks Haylie, I agree it's a very difficult vocal, on version two you can hear how much Chuck is putting into the song, one of the things I want to try and get better at is recording vocals, it's something I don't have any real experience of so any tips and advice is most welcome from anyone.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the recording Dave, I felt the 2nd one was a bit too polished in the mix for the song.
