A/B copy problem.

Anyone ever run into the problem?  I have 4 takes of a baseline and track 2 V1, V2, V3, and V4.  I like to set A/B points  and copy the best parts of the different takes into V8 to make a final "good" take. It has worked for me in the past, however today I set my A/B points on V4 and told the BR to copy to V8, but for some reason it is copying everything  from point A to the end. It does not make sense. I have tried six times,  turned the machine off and tried again and I am still having the problem.  any ideas?

I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you.  I was just reading the manual about this process yesterday as it's something I hope to try in the next couple of days.  If you figure it out, please post it.

Good luck!
Cheers!

i used to have problems with the A/B function so i gave up on that angle entirely. these days, i use the track copy function. when you record in time with a metronome or rythym pattern, using the track copy function gives you added precision by letting you select the bar/measure(?) you want to start, end, and copy to. you can also move or delete sections in this same way.

you can select sections by measure or time, but doing it my measure ensures much smoother and seamless transitions.

Utility - Track - Copy - select Measure/Time - type in start, then end, then destination measure/time.  and voila!!!

I am still not sure what happened, but I was able to get around this by copying the whole thing and deleting the parts I didn't need instead of just copying the parts I needed. It didn't really address the underlying problem, but it allows me to move forward with the song.
Hewhoiscalledj, thanks for the suggestion. I will try that next time if I run into this issue again.

I sometimes wonder if there is something wrong with the internal clock.
I have often rewound on an MP3 only to have it continue from where it was.
Then I would stop it, wind back to a specific time but it insists on continuing where it left off or some seemingly random jump in time.

Yesterday I was practicing with my mp3s.  I was half way through a song and pushed STOP and REWIND to return to the beginning.  It gave me an error of UNSUPPORTED FORMAT.  I tried again...same result.  I toggled to the previous song and then forward to get back to the song and everything worked fine again.  Hmmmmmmm.....
Cheers!
