Just seen the best tribute band for quite a while , Too Petty , @ the Boom Boom Club in Sutton Surrey UK , it left me with ears nearly bleeding , but that goes with standing too near to the speaker stacks ( something I've always done since i was a a kid ) now I'm finishing off last nights takeaway , with of course last nights unfinished wine

Tom Petty's music is always good in my book and seeing a cover band that does it well is the next best thing to the real deal. They have chosen a creative name with Too Petty.

I saw a T.P. tribute band last year at the fair grounds beer fest. in Monterey Ca. that did a fine job with their tribute to T.P. and his music. They called themselves Petty Theft which I thought was also very creative. They sounded great but I might have over indulged with the beverage which has been known to cloud my judgement... plus I think I saw Jimi's ghost firing up a Strat   ;D

Sounds great. I am a big fan of the man and his band. A lot of integrity in the bloke, very passionate and takes no crap. My defunct band played a few  of his songs, I would of played the whole set full of them myself, they always went down well even even with people who had never heard of him. They would ask " What was that song etc? ".

Huge respect for him and his band, I have a load of his albums too. I was toying with a T Petty/ Hank Williams type covers band before the last band, but the latter band was drifting off from were I wanted to be so even If I had not been struck down I would probably have chucked the towel in. It's still something I would like to do though with the right people. Right on Tom.
