Here's a small part of Sultans of Swing with my 8 year old doing the lead break. As it ended up her first take was one of the best but i then realised that i did it over one of the rhythm tracks so i hit the undo button and started it again assuming she'd pull it off in one hit again. As Murphy's Law kicked in she fluffed a few parts and we had to do some punching in the fix them. :D

I think she did quite well for a youngster.

(For those that didn't hear her on my first post on this site see here http://microrecorders.org/community/post-your-work/newbie-alert-t1779/0/ )

Just a roadie again.....

Much as i like bragging about my daughter's playing  ;D and appreciate the kind words (as does she too) any tips on how to improve my recording would be greatly appreciated. It's all pretty new to me.
I was trying to get more bottom end on the rhythm (acoustic with piezo pickup plugged directly into the BR) but whenever i push the bottom end up on the guitar or the BR i find the sound starts to break up/distort.

Just a roadie again.....

So good I still can't believe she is only 8.  Has much talent.

Hey, my daughter will be turning 8 in a couple weeks. It's been my dream to teach her to play the guitar, but hasn't happend yet.  I bought her a keyboard when she was 5.  Thankfully, she seems to be taking to that just recently. I was just amazed to hear your girl playing the way she does! I haven't heard the 1st one yet, but I'm heading over there right now!  That is just great! coming from a future Elementary Music teacher!- AWESOME 8)

Oh, you might want to try just micing your acoustic- or use the onboard mic. If you haven't tried that yet, I think you'll be surprised ;D Also the Breakup/distortion is probably clipping- YOu can keep the fullness of the guitar by turning down the sensitivity and turning up the master....

I do want to do this but as i've said on another thread, getting 5 mins of silence in our house is near impossible.......but i will be trying that whenever i get a chance.

I think i'm going to have to find another teacher for her soon as she tends to respond to others better than her father........typical child!!
