Well let me add mine, this is very, very good stuff! Don't worry about bragging, just keep posting so we can see her develop.

Quote from: BAG on February 18, 2009, 05:26:25 PMany tips on how to improve my recording would be greatly appreciated. It's all pretty new to me.

I was trying to get more bottom end on the rhythm (acoustic with piezo pickup plugged directly into the BR) but whenever i push the bottom end up on the guitar or the BR i find the sound starts to break up/distort.

Two things to try. First, adjust the input sensitivity. Press "Input" and you see "Sns", probably 0db. You can increase or decrease this to accommodate low/high gain input. So if you are getting distortion, try reducing the Sns to a lower dB number. This operates independently of the actual input level. Set the Sns so that the "Over" box doesn't display, then set the input level so that the bars are at the upper end of the display.

Second thing is to edit the effect yuou are using in the BR to give more bass rather than on your guitar. Press Effect and EDT, then go into the Preamp area and adjust the bass, middle and treble there. This will allow you to get more bottom end without pushing the input too hard.

Cheers,

Nigel

Thanks for that Nigel, i have tried some adjustment with the effects but i was also upping the input sensitivity to hear it over the drums. I'll have to drop the drum level next time and back off the sensitivity of the guitar.

Just a roadie again.....

Input sensitivity will be what's creating the distortion. You want to keep that down. Don't forget you can change the volume of the drum track as well - you can take it down if it's too loud. Press Rhythm and scroll through the options with the cursor.

WOW man. You are gonna get that lil girl addicted to the MBR. Once you start recording, and sharing... it's all over lol. There is little (except her new instructor) that you could do better than that. Her playing will be increasing even more now.

She is amazing, please tell her we said so. I have NEVER heard a child anywhere near her age play like this. The term "prodigy" comes to mind... please explain to her what that means.

I so hope she continues with this.

Be sure you are adjusting the mic sensitivity... not just the input dial on the side of the unit. If you are unsure about this.... when everything is hooked up and playing through the MBR (if you are playing through the onboard mic) press "input", and adjust the sensitivity down (like to -6db) that should help with the clipping. What drums are these?? Is it a separate track you uploaded in the MBR? If so, also adjust the "track level" for the drums down when you master.

It's just an arrangment of the "Rock4" parts V1,V2 and F1.
