Second outing for my Zoom R8.
Here is a cover of David Gray`s Babylon.
It is two tracks of guitar using my Ashton electric acoustic (no effects) and the vox(touch of chorous and reverb)
Behringer c1 mic is used.
My next aquisition has to be a pop filter for the mic.

Cheers for listening and comments please.............

Really good this, a slightly slower and laid back version compared to the original.

Your electro acoustic has such a nice clean tone to it, sounds fabulous!

Impressive vocal too as its not an easy song to sing .The "pops" were not overbearing and actually contributed to the recording having really nice live warm quality.

Oh this is lovely - I completely agree with Andrew, it's got a lovely warm feel to it. The guitar sounds gorgeous and the song really suits your voice. If you're using a condenser mic without a pop shield you've done really well, they pick up everything!

I look forward to hearing more from you.

Really good cover...
I think it's a very difficult song to sing... and you succeed to sing it good!
A very nice listen to me

Here's a tip I picked up from one of David Wills' videos at ProAudioDVDs.com.

Plosives tend to be directed out and down. With conventional mic placement, they go straight into the mic, producing a pop.

But by hanging the mic upside-down above the singer, most of the plosives will not go straight into the mic, so no pops.

Of course, a pop filter can help too, but I suspect that careful mic placement will be more effective.
