Just to give a bit of background on this, I was inspired by Jackofall's wonderful 'Arab Rock' and darker flamenco pieces to try something very different on the guitar. I wanted to turn those arabic scales into a psychedelic, hypnotic groove - kind of a Velvet Underground 'Venus in Furs' feel. I can only play an approximation of what he does, but I tried. The final guitar track is a result of some very late-night, spaced-out noodling. Jim and Mike got the vibe perfectly, ran with it, and took it to where it is today. I've wanted to record something like this for a VERY long time...

Jim (and Mike!) fixed it for me!!!! lol

Another great song, guys! I have to admit I was totally baffled by the title, but I found the explanation on the SoundClick page. Here it is for those who are still wondering:

Like this one a lot as well. Nice change of style and great production. Was this all done on the BR or did you mix in a DAW?

Cheers,

Nigel

Thanks 64Guitars, you are such a help! I was trying to download this and getting frustrated because there was no link and I couldn't get it off Soundclick. But you've answered my question.

Cheers,

Nigel

All the guitars and vocals were on the BR. Flash Harry did the bass on the BR then sent it over to ORH to do a final mix (with the sound effects) in Audacity. I think  :D

It's been a big learning curve for us in terms of separating the parts out for optimum sound quality. I have a feeling we'll move (sooner rather than later) to exporting separate .wav files for assembling and mixing in Audacity. Thanks to 64guitars, we now have a place where we can store and access all these separate parts (Skydrive).

I've also realised the difference in sound quality when you output at 192kbs.

Learning all the time!  :)
