An old friend from back in the day sent me this lyric.
Seemed to have the flavor of the old political folk song style.
Thanks for listening and hope you enjoy.

Words by Bob 'Ace' Brooks / Music by Ken lowry

Springtime in Boston
There's some cops and men and some guns over there
Some flags and a camera crew
Everyone's exhausted from what's gone on
And our daughter's home with the flu

There's a man with a bomb and its starting to scare
The living shit right out of me and ma
We're hunkered down this evening inside our house
Trying hard not to recall

Look like its spring time in Boston all over again
Another bloody day in the street
Everybody's wondering what's going on
History always repeats

They've cordoned off the street where Uncle Henry lives
There's humvees where we left the car
My next door neighbor Billy just returned from Iraq
With eyes that are filled with scars

Children pay no attention
To the panic you see on the screen
And for good god's sake
Don't make the mistake
(Of gazing through the window)
Cause then you'll really scream

Look like its spring time in Boston all over again
Sanity has stepped out of bounds
Everybody's wondering what's going on
This time the cops are bringing hounds

Through the smoke and the flames they pulled out the names
Of the bastards who caused this pain
Now the heat is on and it's gonna stay on
Our country's being drained

There's some cops and men and some guns over there
Some flags and a camera crew
We've got one hell of a problem
What the world we gonna do?

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Very well done hooper, a fine production (not unusual for you). And very timely, and also solidly in the folk/protest tradition - sounds Dylanesque in the delivery.

The bombing hit close to home for me as Boston is the nearest "big" city, and where it all took place is a part of town that I'm very familiar with - in my youth, I used to frequent the Newbury Comics store on Newbury Street just a block or so away, where I bought many a single & LP by 80s alternative artists.

In fact, my last week was spent in something of a daze just trying to come to grips with what had happened, and then the drama that unfolded at the end of the week. Just an awful, terrible act of hatred. I mourn for the innocents who were killed, and my heart goes out to those injured.

Great sounding guitar and the vocals are really good. Very chilling to listen to. You`ve captured the emotion and yes sounds Dillon- ish.

Very sad for Boston i feel.

Brilliant, as always. I'm getting a strong Dylan vibe too, especially when the harmonica comes in. You've really captured that old political folk song style. I love it!

Crikey this is so good . . . I found it quite moving. Very Dylanesque - I liked the way it ended too.

I'm not quite sure what to say, except that I wholeheartedly agree with Cuthbert's sentiments.
