Well it won't be long before we bury Margaret Thatcher,There seems to be a polarized view of her popularity,A lot of people think she was a saint and saved the country from rack and ruin at the hands of the trade unions, and an equal amount that thought Thatcherism brought about the worst in human nature.I was a coal miner in my early days and would personally like to thank her for getting me out of the mines,it was a horrible hard and thankless job, thanks also for the 12 month sabbatical in 84/85.I then became a teacher and left one thankless job for another. Its marvelous how we managed to produce some highly intelligent, independent, hard working young people,McDonald's must be over the moon.BUT!!! when she stole the milk off us,that was the cruelest blow of all,all the young ones today are over 6ft tall, while our generation resemble a lost tribe of Hobbits.Goodbye Margaret, enjoy your last journey and your final destination, wherever that may be.This is a song by Rita McNeil of Nova Scotia and is an anthem for a lost generation.

Had a few friends round last night and we were talking about Mrs Thatcher.  I would have been 18 when she became PM, left school and started a steady job, met my wife, bought a house got married and although money was always tight we enjoyed the 80s. Living in a mining area though with a lot of miners in my family tree, I can understand how many families suffered during that time. To be truthful I don't have much time for politicians, right wing or left wing - they're all in it to feather their own nests whichever side of the fence they're on.
Nice song by the way !!

Thanks for the welcome, I was surprised to hear just how bad I sounded,in my head I think I'm a cross between Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra  :D :D.I will have to make sure I choose the right songs and monitor my singing/screeching.The micro br is a fantastic machine ,I'm really pleased I bought it.
