i was brought up not to speak ill of the dead, so i find myself in a moral dilemna.

now don't you speak ill of the dead
was what my father always said
what goes around comes back around
my mother planted that thought firmly in my head

ding dong ding dong the witch is dead
that song is ringing round my head
i want to join in singalong
it feels so good but somehow wrong

the yards and factories long gone
the skills to build all but forgotten
is there no heart left in this town
that once was great that once was proud

ding dong etc

she polarised was loved and hated
a great divide she created
between the haves and the have nots
between the south and tween the north

ding dong etc

Hitler was an evil bastard. I don't think we should pretend otherwise just because he's dead. When people do horrible things, we shouldn't be afraid to say so after they've died.

I found Morrissey's comments on Thatcher quite interesting:

This is an excellent song Jim ... guitar and vox are simple, pure and perfect ... wonderful!!!

It's songs like this that make me realize I don't know much of history or maybe
I just don't remember anything as I live in my littlie vacuum ... saw the news the other day
and never even thought or knew much about it ... now I'm reading and learning ...

and it's ringing round my head too ... WOW!!!

This is excellent Jim, really excellent.

Incredibly infectious song that strikes a chord as soon as the vocal kicks in...the lyrics are brilliant.

No particularly strong views either way on the subject matter personally, but glad that the story evoked this wonderful bit of creativity from you.
