Now this is brilliant fellas... Bruno what are you using for drums??? They sound brilliant... something I would strive for in a live mix... Man this is really an awesome mix!!! As always the Hookster vox pull you in and are awesome... I love this tune fellas!!!

I love the transition between the verses into the chorus. Throws the listener off balance somehow.

Thanks for the comments guys - and thank you Hook for your collaboration on this - I always appreciate input from the Hookmeister, always turns my simple musings into real songs :-)

Tod - I used betamonkeymusic loops for the drums (http://www.betamonkeymusic.com/). Real drums recorded into little loops, seems to work well, and (at least to my ears), sound more human than a drum machine - or  at least what I can do with a drum machine 

This was the third full mix, it was hard to get the drums to punch through interestingly enough. I normally don't have that problem. I used all the tracks on the BR1600, so there is a lot going on - so I guess not unsurprisingly difficult to mix, although I don't know how some people cope with 30 odd tracks that post on here, how you balance that I don't know - I assume lots of time and listening :-)

Really great song guys.  Sometimes Hooks vocals remind me of Dave Matthews and this one really reminds me of that kind of greatness of song-craft.  Its the whole package that makes me thing of Sir Dave.
