The sad tale of an ageing rocker, written by myself and performed by Nigel Cuff

JJ Was A Metalhead

JJ was a metalhead
Slayer, Sabbath, Priest
The studs, crosses, leather
The nature of the beast

Headbanging was his big thing
Air guitar close second
But things they did gradually change
As middle age beckoned

His long hair crept right up his back
Denims made way for khaki
Raw meat replaced by healthy options
 Jagermeister by saki

Chorus

Whatever happened to our JJ
The metalheads all moan
He sold his soul to the devil
Now the only thing he sells...... is bank loans

Verse

The skulls and chains have disappeared
Hugo Boss makes him come alive
The devil horns are in the past
Now he does high fives

The metal riffs are never heard
No "Slaughter" or "Ace Of Spades"
These days JJ is totally hooked........
On Snow Patrol and Coldplay

Chorus

Whatever happened to our JJ
The metalheads they all moan
He sold his soul to the devil
Now the only thing he sells ......
is bank loans

Great crunch in those guitar power chords! A funny story that has a lot of truisms captured in word. The chorus :
"Whatever happened to our JJ
The metalheads all moan
He sold his soul to the devil
Now the only thing he sells...... is bank loans"

sums it up nicely. Fine writing Grimbo!

Great song, loved the lyrics, think they ring true for a few of us around here, me included! Loved that guitar tone as well - fabulous
