Hi Folks!

Is it Christmas? snow is falling all around me. . . Children playing, having fun.
I'm inside with a Baileys Coffee. . .

And the kids outside can whistle if they want one!

Here is my song 'You Can't Always Kiss it Better' I have written a song with a similar title - but this one was what I really meant to write. See what you think.

Comments good or bad welcome.

Really beautiful melody and warm feel here! The strings gives gentle flavor to this! Fine job, again!

Gritter,

How did you know I was cozy? wrapped up in a duvet in the kitchen to get some acoustics.

What do you do to get that sound? Acoustic sounds great in the bathroom, but have to make sure the GF isn't in the bath, for distraction and additional sound effects.

I think I am singing it better now, and have modified a small part today.

Thanks!

I like the way you manage the balance between strength and laid back in the singing. Great song !

Do you mean you sent those poor kids outside in the snow to record in a silent house ! I hop they weren't too many takes.

thanks for sharing your music

Thankyou Redler - really appreciate your comments.

The strings were a weird experience really as I decided the song should really be strings only, listening to the track the single strums of chords is really an anchor for me to sing to, and though I am playing it with hammer ons in the A and Bm chords to create a rhythm I am yet to re-record without single strums.

For the strings, I just grabbed a casio Keyboard (I am not pianist) and sampled every chord I can think of and fitted them together in Sony Soundforge. I am proud of them but there is a chorus/verse I didn't put them in and not sure of the effect may put them in that one as well.

Thanks again, it helps to know people like your music.

Keep rocking.

Thanks danieldesete,

It only took about err ten takes, children and snow? A marriage made in heaven and dedicated by a polar bear with a collar!

So much fun, thanks for the comments - Laid back is about all I can do for singing!

Very sweet song.
The single strums and strings work good together.
Nice work.

hey dr ziggy ! stardust on this one, it's a really fine song. but you know, me and some here are having a songwriting course, and I have to find some nits for exercise ;-) so I'll tell you that's a bit too long, should be 3:30 instead of 4:00 LOL. jocking, I found it lovely and very promising - what if you'd have real string section on? a hit!
