Ladies and gentlemen, for your streaming and/or free download enjoyment, six tracks from a band called Stick.

Recorded at Gold Dust Studios in Bromley in 1999 at vast expense.

Stick CD 1999

Shortly afterwards the singer-songwriter (me) had a bit of a breakdown and quit music altogether for five years or so :D

==========

I wasn't ever intending to publish old recordings (I loathed this particular CD for years). But at a jolly reunion of various old and decrepid bods the other weekend it became apparent that A) some folks really wanted access to any recordings that exist (didn't they buy the CD at the gigs?!?! Wot have they done with it, then?!?!?), and B) the other musicians involved didn't object to it getting put on the internet.

Seeing as I was already using alonetone for hosting my stuff, we decided I'd create some more accounts and post it all there.

These six songs are the only recordings of Stick that we are currently aware of, so I don't expect to be adding to them.

(I do, however, expect to be re-recording one or two of them again in the broom-cupboard, arranged more how I originally intended them when I wrote them, but they'll show up as new "AndyR originals" as and when they're done).

I'm also sat on a stack of CDs (transfers from cassettes by my old live sound-engineer) from the previous band I was in with with the same drummer. These consist of studio demos and live recordings made between 1983 and 1987. I shall be putting those up in the near-ish future (as long as I don't get put off by the sound quality when I listen to them!!).

=============

By the way, my own favourites of these 6 recordings are Precious followed by Your Life. The Joiner is my favourite song, but I don't like this arrangement, never did really, but that's how they wanted to play it.

Hi Andy, started to listen and will finish it off when I get home later. It sounds very promising and I look forward to checking it out fully over the weekend..........Willie

I was just checking out the Stick tunes Andy and they're all good and seem recorded well but the one that caught my ear was "Let Me Rest". I like the multi-genre sound of it (S. Rock, a little modern gospel, and alt. rock) and it has one of the best modulations to the outro that I've ever heard in a song! Excellent.
