Bounce bother

I've bounced 4 tracks and rhythm to tracks 1-2 V-2.
I now have recorded on tracks 3-4.
Do i bounce to 1-2 V2 or to a different pair of V-tracks.
The manual is a little confusing on the matter  :-\

Use a new, empty pair of v-tracks each time you bounce. That way, you have the option of redoing any sub-mixes that you later decide were not as good as you'd hoped.

I guess everyone does it differently.
It really pays to make copies of the track sheet and keep notes as to what went where with which FX etc.
One thing that helps me keep track of bounces vs recorded takes is I record on V1,2,3 etc and bounce to V8, V7,v6 etc. that way I know the latest takes and bounces.

I do that too. It especially makes a difference when you use BR Wave Converter, as you can easily distinguish your base tracks from your bounced or mastered tracks in the Wave Converter's v-track grid. See this earlier message with a screenshot of the BR Wave Converter.

A wonderfully useful feature of the BR-8 is that it shows the entire 8x8 v-track grid in its display.

And it lets you enter an 8-character name for each of the 64 v-tracks! So, you can give your v-tracks meaningful names such as BASS, GTR-1, GTR-2, KEYS-L, KEYS-R, LEAD-VOX, BG-VOX1, BG-VOX2, etc. As you move the cursor around the grid, it shows the name of the currently-selected v-track. The 8 currently-selected v-tracks are indicated by a filled-in box if they've been recorded, or a line if they're empty. The rest of the v-tracks (the remaining 56 that are not currently selected) are represented by an empty box if they've been recorded, or a dot if they're empty.

I wish all of the BRs had those features!
