Upon My Hand
written & performed by Hook
Lost, confused
Trouble in the world
Trouble in my shoes

Life, obstacle
How to find a flame
When the grounds are wet
Who's to blame?

                  I can see
That all paths lead to me
                  History, patterns to see
All would lead one to believe
                  We're not supposed to judge
But sometimes the judge is right
Bring your gavel down upon my hand tonight

Spent, frustrated
Accidents upon the road
It's just not safe to go

Gone, inebriated
Slurring select words
Both charms & unnerves

I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back

I like how the music in the chorus makes the song soar.
It really opens up and draws you in.
Trumpet sounds good on this.

Really enjoyed this, Hook - all the pieces fit together so very well. Love hearing an original for this fest! Is that a real trumpet you're playing? Sounds very articulated if it's TJ...either way, it sounds fabbo.

Top notch.  8)

I'm with Cuth, haven't heard many original reggae tunes on the site!

TJ trumpet additions gives a gentle and laid back feel to this. The arrangement and performing is brilliant! I love the original Hook-sound :) Reggae on!

Thanks for listening my friends, I'm trying to get caught up with all the great music getting posted lately!

Opps That's a TJ trumpet, (original post corrected) and yea thumbjam has really made an incredible product, the way you can shake the device and change the pitch, slide your finger a bit and the pitch wavers, it really gives it an authenticity that I've never heard on a keyboard or synth. The question then is do you leave the note flat or try for another take, I love the way the trumpet goes a bit flat out of the bridge (about 3min. mark) it really works to my ear and sounds so real! I really never thought I'd be able to make arrangements like this, thanks TJ, now I have to figure out the garageband smart strings!!!
Rock on my brothers!

Very cool and smooth arrangement. Has a tropical feel and a slight Latin flavour...I also hear a bit of an Iggy Pop meets Jimmy Buffet meets Jim O'Rourke vibe. Very original sound.

This sounds great.
I'm with the others here - the trumpet is amazing.
