Problems with external microphone

Hello guys,

This afternoon i was trying to record some vocal lines to my band´s new song. We are using a Shure SM 57 mic for it. My mic´s cable doesn´t fit the Line In plug of the Micro BR once it´s too big. So I use an adaptor for it and I am using the EXT input.

Well, the thing is when I speak something on the mic, I can only hear the left chanel, as if the pan was turned all the way to the left. The signal level on the main visor of the micro br indicates that only the left chanel is receiving signal.

The most strange is: when i record something and I press play to hear it, I can hear what i recorded in both left and right, as if the pan was centred!

I´m not sure if I made myself clear, but does someone know what´s happening??

Thank you!

The Shure SM57 is not a stereo mic - it's mono. So just record it to a single track rather than a pair (see page 41 of the Micro BR manual, 3rd edition, under the heading "Selecting stereo tracks for recording"). On playback, you can pan it wherever you like.

I have recorded the track anyway. I´m working on mixing it and everything is going fine. Soon I will post here.

Thank you for your help!
