I heard a Whisper

When i was a boy i used to work in the Brickyards what a place it was Dickensian........ setting Bricks in the setting shed next to the Presses 30,000 a day 2 at a time.......it was not a place for a young man with dreams
I heard a whisper, that took me back to a scene
a scene in my teenage years when i really wanted to scream
i was working in a factory, with other working man
all of them were happy i was the odd man

everyone around me, just worked and  pay their dues
The days went on forever i thought i'd blow a fuse
i saw my my fate as it was  it made me feel  so Blue, so Blue, So Blue
The days went so slow, as the hours ticked on by
everyday like groundhog day each one made me cry

i saw an older man who was crippled through the work he'd done
the work had twisted his back his hands, his mind was coming undone
i screamed i gotta get away
i gotta get out of this place
i gotta get away no matter what i have to pay

i had a mortgage a wife and child,
i was 18 years old and this job was blowing wild
it was whey to wild
i was too young
every fibre of me just wanted,. wanted to run, run
i was too young, to young

when i spoke my thoughts, to everyone around
they all told me, that if i kept my nose to the ground,
work hard and one day i would own a house of my own
but i thought yes but i'd have unhappy children i thought to myself,

do i want that for me
i thought to myself do i want this as my dream
do i want this as my dream
solo

What could i do, what could i be, was there really a place out there for the likes  me
all i knew, is that i could not go on ,on and on and on and on
when i looked around me all i saw fools,
i was on a ship full of fools, a ship full of fools being used as someone else's tools
as someone else's tools

Then come an apithany, it was a sunny day
i was in the work shed as the presses roared away
i couldn't take no more, and tears filled my eyes
so i dropped down tools and ran to the Blue sky, ran to the blue, ran to the Blue sky

I heard a whisper that told me i could try try
I heard a Whisper

great music Reg, and the vocal, thats the goods.  It reminds me of a kind of 13th Floor Elevators kind of track, and by that I mean that I love it.  All you need is an electric jug.  Do they have a thumb jam v-instrument for that?  Wicked.  Really cool guitar playing man, you are feeling it real.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places
