This tune has been created with superb workmanship from two of my fellow songcrafters.

Vocals  - Regs
Drums  - Phantasm777

All other weird noises are my fault.

Originally performed by The Cars, in 1978.

I've been spolied this week. After Kenny Mac's and deific Dave's superb rendition of my favourite Cars' song, here's another brilliant version.  This song has always been on my 'to do' list, which as you can tell from how regularly I post songs, I'll probably never get round to doing - never seem to have enough spare time! Anyway after this week I think I'll forget about even attempting this one.  Well done guys!

Another splendid cover of this 70s classic. I love how you nailed the guitar solo and all those little synth licks. Well done, guys.

Thank you, gentlemen.

Trevor and Frank truly made this song come alive. The guitar tracks can only carry it so far.
Frank's killer drumming and Trevor's other-worldly vocals definitely float my boat.

Neil I will look into the Cars tune you mentioned.

Your'e too modest Gene...i'd give both arms to play guitar like you.....oh hold on a minute that means i'd have to play with my feet ...may be not ...maybe just my high teeth i can always suck a steak.......Thats some great drumming Frank  it gives it a great live feel ...Thanks all for listening

when gene asked me if I would like to drums for this song, I was like, SHIT! I don't like the cars. one of the reasons we're, some of the songs were overplayed back then, BUT, being the case I knew the song enough to be able to play it in my mind so it was a matter of recording it.

I need rat-tat-tat to let me know if the drums seem placed and recorded fine and I think now you can hear my cymbals a lot better. I think he and I are the only drummers here?

gene blew me away how close he got the guitar parts and keys, how could I say no? it's no secret I am a picky MF-er as far as music I like, and music I like to play, but I mean no harm to anyone, nor am I trying to be a dick or anything. I have to live by what feels right, just like anyone else and i certainly try and respect other's tastes.

actually after i recorded it i was like, hmmm, well it might turn out mediocre (my drumming track) but it turned out better than i thought. except i think there is one place where i hit a cymbal out of nowhere, luckily it isn't too noticeable. i put a little more balls into my drum version of it. one of the reasons i didn't like the cars was while their drummer doesn't suck, he seemed to just be a time keeper, so i did my own version based on the basics he used.

and trev does a great job as well! also trev my drum tracks i do rather quickly, so not much time to really write out the drums in my head, but not bad for about 40 mins of drumming on this song and about 4 takes.

seems like when we three get together each song shows a noticeable improvement than the last song, guess we are gelling well together. gene we need to get trev to do the ocean - zep, he might have done it before, but not with me, being bonzo is one of my fav drummers, i use a lot of what he does in the song, heavy on the bass foot, and one bass drum only. maybe some day? ;)

I'm sure Trev would be all over that one, Frank. He loves Zep's music.
I haven't played that one in a long time but the melody still lingers on.
